A Chance to become an elite athlete. Kelsey Rec is putting on a High Performance Athlete Development Camp for athletes in grades 9-12. It will be an opportunity spend a day in the life of an elite athlete and discover a world of opportunity. The camp is tomorrow from 9 am to noon and you can register by emailing Impact@cscm.ca

Summer soccer skills and drills gets started tomorrow.

Skills and Drills is a development camp for kids aged 10-16 that takes place at the Kelsey Recreation field. It’s a 7 week program starting July 15, which includes both training and active play.

The cost is $30.00. To register or for more information contact Kelsey Rec center at 627-1134. 

There's a few slots open for co-eds at the Beach Volleyball tournament .

The tournament will be held on July 26 getting underway at 10 am at Clearwater Lake. Teams are 2 males, 2 females and registration is $100. Top 2 teams win prizes with a 70/30 split as well as donated prizes from Funky Threadz for spots 1-4.

Exhibition action in the MJHL kicks off Monday, September 1, 2014 with the OCN Blizzard hitting the ice for their first game September 3.

The Blizzard will be facing off against Saskatchewan rivals The Flin Flon Junior Bombers.  Game time 7 p.m. at the GLMC.

MJHL Commissioner Kim Davis says “The pre-season is a critical time of the year for our teams,” as they are carefully evaluating their talent, both long-term prospects and those players who could potentially be in the line-up for opening night.”

The regular season kicks off Friday, September 19.

Clearwater Lake Marathon

Sign up is on now for the Clearwater Lake Marathon happening July 20th.

The marathon goes to support the Clearwater Lake Hall and their efforts to get a new kitchen. There are two ways to sign up, either in person at Campers cove at Clearwater Lake or in town at the Wellness Center. You can also register online at clearwatercottagers.ca. Organizer Michael O’Rourke says it's important to register early so they can prepare lists of all the participants for the various check points.

Final registration deadline is 4 o’clock July 19th and due to safety reasons, no late entries will be permitted.

There’s a 5k, 10k or 21k with awards, prizes and a pancake breakfast following.
