Blizzard Tickets On Sale Friday

Season tickets for the OCN Blizzard 2016-17 season go on sale Friday. Based on the 29 game home schedule adult tickets are 250-dollars, seniors are 165, youth and student 135 while Child are 75. When tickets go on sale they will be available at Paperworks Plus and the Blizzard office. The OCN Blizzard open the season on September 24th hosting the Dauphin Kings.

Slo Pitch

Five Games tonight in The Pas Co Ed Slo Pitch league. Blue Jays are in a double header at Arena 1 against Big League Crew and Sweatshop Swingers. One game at Kinsmen has Balls Deep playing the Paperworks Pounders. And at Centennial EVM has a double header against Tipsy Ten and Hits and Giggles.

 

Slo Pitch Schedule for Tonight

A full 6 games on the diamond tonight in The Pas Slo Pitch League. At Arena 1 Team Fireballs takes on Pure Pressure and Deadly Diamonds. Kinsmen has Sweatshop Swingers with a double header against Team T-I and Sons of Pitches. And over at Centennial Hits and Giggles has two games against The Stompers followed by OCN Jacs.

 

Team MB Athletic Identification

The North American Indigenous Games are back in 2017 and they’re looking for athletes. To try out for team Manitoba tryouts you can get more information by calling 204-925-5622. Registration deadline for the games is August 31st and it’s 50 dollars per athlete.

 

Hole In One Early Bird Tickets Available Now

Early Bird tickets for the annual Million Dollar Hole in One are back. You can get your tickets now for the golf event set for July 12thto the 17th. Early bird tickets are available for 15 dollars at the Golf course and Shane’s Music. The Hole in One has thousands of dollars in prizes available each year, 3 people will shoot for one million dollars.

 

Slo Pitch

Five games this evening on the ball diamonds. In The Pas Co Ed Slo Pitch League at Kinsmen, Deadly Diamonds play a double header against Big League Crew and Old Balls, At Centennial Master Batters play a double header against Team Fireballs and the Alouette 12 40’s. Arena 1 has Balls Deep taking on Tipsy 10.

A busy slo pitch night in The Pas with 3 double headers, one at each diamond. At Arena 1 Team T plays the Alouette 12 40’s followed by old balls. At Kinsmen sweatshop swingers plays The Paperworks Pounders followed by Tipsy 10, and at Centennial Balls Deep plays Master batters and the Stompers.  Check The Pas Slo Pitch Facebook page for any rainouts.

Six teams are in action tonight in The Pas Co-Ed Slo Pitch League. Three games, all at 8pm, at different diamonds. Centennial sees EVM face off against Blue Jays, Arena 1 Bracken Dam takes on Paperworks Pounders and Kinsmen has Big League Crew against Team Fireballs.

 

Norman Skateboarding and BMX Competition Results

On Saturday the fourteenth annual Norman Skateboarding and BMX competition was held at the Oscar Lathlin Collegiate Skate Park in OCN. Nearly 40 competitors ranged in age from 5 all the way into late 20’s. Athletes and supporters came from Thompson, Flin Flon, Norway House, Langenburg, Winnipeg, Swan River, Roblin and Dauphin. A number of members from Thirty Three Skateboards from Winnipeg came up to judge and compete. Winners of the main competitions include Tyson Kanhai from Winnipeg in the 18 and over skateboarding category. 13 to 17 skateboarding saw Carlos Morriseau from OCN take top spot. 12 and under Skateboarding Sam Chartier from OCN finished 1st. in BMX 18 and over Joey Anderson from The Pas finished first. 13 to 17 BMX Brandon Sawchyn finished top spot.

 

MJHL Draft

The Manitoba Junior Hockey League held their annual Bantam Draft this weekend. The OCN Blizzard held the 6th overall pick in the draft of 2001 born hockey players from across the province. The Blizzard made 6th picks in the draft taking Nakodan Greyeyes in the first round. Other players drafted by OCN include Taron Topham, Drayson Collyer, Bryden Sinclair, Austin McIvor and Randy Cooke. The players drafted along with previous years picks will take part in OCN Blizzard Spring Camp in Late August.

 

Slo Pitch

A full night of games for The pas Co Ed Slo Pitch league at Kinsmen and Centennial ball diamonds. At Kinsmen Sweatshop Swings play a double header against Alouette 1240’s and hits and giggles. At Centennial Sons of Pitches has 2 games against Master batters followed by the Paperworks Pounders.  

 

Special Olympics Athletes Fair

Special Olympics Manitoba is holding an athlete’s fair on Saturday The Three 2 hour sessions will be held at the Kikiwak in and screenings will include FUNfitness and Health promotion. The Pas Co-Ed Slo Pitch league continues to build fences around Arena 1 and Centennial ball diamonds this week. With the work almost complete the schedule for games will return to normal soon. For tonight all games start at 8pm. At Kinsmen, Old Balls takes on the Alouette 1240’s. At arena 1 Sons of Pitches plays the sweatshop swingers and at Centennial Team T takes on big league Crew. Reminder to keep an eye on The Pas Co-Ed Slo Pitch Facebook Page for updates on rescheduled games due to fence construction.
