The MJHL is launching a new mobile app this season. The app will give fans easy access to, scoring data, game scores, standings and statistics.

The Mobile app is free and is available for android and apple smartphones and tablets.

The OCN Blizzard Golf Fundraiser is set to take place at the Halcrow Lake Golf Course in The Pas on September 10^th

The registration begins at 9AM on September 10^th and the shotgun starts at 10AM. Cost is $80 dollars a person which includes 18 holes and a steak dinner. All proceeds go to the OCN Blizzard.

Tickets can be purchased at the Halcrow Lake Golf and Country Club, The OCN Blizzard Office, and Paperworks Plus.

The OCN Blizzard is in need of host families to billet players. Billeting involves having a hockey player stay at your house during the hockey season.

The Blizzard will have lots of players from out of town this year that have a lot to share and lot to give to the family that they are going to be living with.

There will be a billet meeting that will go through all of the rules that the players have to follow when living in someone’s house which will take place once more billet families come forward.

The OCN Blizzard Summer Hockey Camps began on August 27^th and will wrap up tomorrow. The first camp is the OCN Blizzard Hockey School that provides 8 hours on ice instruction and 2 hours of dry land for children aged 7-10 in one group and children aged 11 to 13 in another group. The other camp is the OCN Blizzard conditioning camp for children 14 and up.

The OCN Blizzard Rookie Camp will run on August 31^st and September 1^st with a registration fee of 75 dollars and their main camp will run from September 2^nd to the 4^th by invitation only. To find out more about these camps visit ocnblizzard.com.

The 9^th Annual Par Three Fundraising Tourney is taking place at the Halcrow Lake Golf and Country Club on September 16^th. Entry fee is $100 Dollars a player and $400 a team. The Tee Off is at 11AM. To sign up or for more information call 204-627-2300.

The Pas Slo Pitch League playoffs continue tonight. At Arena One the Deadly Diamonds will play Balls Deep, The Alouettes face Pure Pressure at Centennial Field, and the Old Balls will play Tipsy Ten at Kinsmen Field. All games will start at 6:30.

The OCN Storm Jr. B Hockey Club is having their main camp from September 8^th until the 10^th at the GLMC. Registration will be held Thursday September 7^th from 5-8 PM in the front Lobby of GLMC. There were 3 games in The Pas Slo-Pitch playoffs last night. Paperworks Pounders beat bracken Dam OG to move on. Blue Jays trumped Hits n Giggles and are on to the next round. And Master Batters beat Sons Of Pitches to advance. There are no games tonight. Playoffs resume on Monday.

The all Men’s and All Woman’s Slo Pitch Tournament takes place here in The Pas from September 15^th to the 17^th. Entry fee is $250 with a $100 deposit.  To register call Shawna Hrappstead at 620-2191

The Pas Recreation and Wellness Centre will be running an indoor cycling workout program from September 12^th to the 26^th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15-12:45. Cost is $30 for members and $48 for non-members. Registration for non members will be open on September 6^th.

There will be a youth disc golf tournament here in The Pas at Kinsmen Park on September 9^th. Registrations time is 8:30 AM and 9:00AM is tee off.

Tonight in The Pas Slo Pitch League playoffs, The Paperworks Pounders will play the Bracken Dam OG’s at Arena 1. The Hits and Giggles will play the Blue Jays at Centennial Field and the Master Batters will play the Son’s of P’s at Kinsmen Field. All games start at 6:30.

The playoffs for The Pas Slo Pitch League continue today. At Aena 1 the Fireballs will play the Deadly Diamonds at 6:30 this evening and the winner will play Balls Deep next Monday.

At Centennial Field Pure Pressure will play the Big League Crew at 6:30 and the winner will play The Alouettes on Monday and at Kinsmen Field the Old Balls take on the Stompers tonight at 6:30 and the winner will face Tipsey 10 on Monday.  

The Pas Recreation and Wellness Centre will be running the "Butts and Bellies" exercise program starting next month.

The program will run from September 5th until October 10th on Tuesdays from 7:15 PM to 8:15PM and on Saturdays from 10:15 AM to 11:15 AM.

There will be no class on October 7th

The 2017 playoffs for The Pas Slo Pitch League kick off tonight. At Arena One the Bracken Dam OG’s play the OCN Jacs at 6:30 and the winner will face the Paper Works Pounders this Thursday.

At Centennial Field the Hits and Giggles will play the Sweatshop Swingers and the winner of that game will play the Blue Jays on Thursday.

The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has awarded a total of $3,000 in Scholarships to four graduating players.

The winners are, Tanner Lewis from the Winkler Flyers for Brandon University, Carter McMurdo from the Portage Terriers for Red River College, Maverick Rafter from The OCN Blizzard for The University of Winnipeg and Brandon Holtby from the Dauphin Kings for The University of Regina.

Each player has won a $750 scholarship for a post secondary education. Commissioner Kim Davis says these players are being recognized for both their one ice play and off ice conduct and is wishing them all the best of luck in their futures.

Registrations for The Sweatshop Boxing Boot camp are open. The camp will have two sessions. There will be a Tuesday and Thursday session and Wednesday and Friday session.

The First Tuesday and Thursday Session begins on August 22^nd and the Wednesday and Friday session begins on the 23^rd. The program will run for 5 weeks and will have a total of 10 sessions.

Due to a lack of interested, The British Soccer Camp that was scheduled to be held at The Kelsey Recreation Arena Fields has been cancelled. The camp was going to to run from August 14^th to the 18^th.
