The MKO MMIWG Liaison Unit is advising that the MMIWG2S+ Healing & Empowerment Endowment Fund is available. This fund was established to support healing, wellness, and empowerment for families affected by MMIWG2S+.

To be eligible, applicants must be a resident of Manitoba, be a member of a First Nation in the MKO Region, and must be an immediate family member impacted by MMIWG2S+.

Eligible applicants may receive support for cultural ceremonies and healing activities, memorial and funeral expenses, and other healing and wellness supports. Travel expenses, childcare costs related to court proceedings or search efforts, education and training opportunities, and costs associated with bringing a loved one home may also be supported through the fund.
