Saskatchewan RCMP had issued a warning about a dangerous person with a gun on Thursday, October 15th, in the area of Red Earth Cree Nation in Saskatchewan, about 190 kilometres east of Prince Albert.
The warning was issued on Thursday afternoon, shortly after 3:30 PM, after a 34-year-old man was found deceased.
The suspect was described as approximately five feet tall and wearing a Canada Goose vest and sweatpants, and believed to be male.
RCMP advised people in the area to get to a safe location, lock doors, not leave their homes, and not approach the suspect. The alert ended around 9:10 PM Thursday, with Saskatchewan RCMP saying they believed there was no longer a threat to public safety.
The death was considered suspicious, and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit has taken over the investigation.
