UCN Instructors Launch Book on Empowering Indigenous Students

Faculty at University College Of The North have collaborated to create a book on empowering Indigenous students.

Dr. Joseph Atoyebi is one of three editors for the book and a professor at UCN; he shares details about the book’s contents.

He says students should not have to leave their cultures at the classroom door to succeed.

The book's themes include reconciliation and decolonization in teaching and learning, empowering Indigenous students and transforming their education, and excellence and scholarship.

A book launch will be held in The Pas on Tuesday, November 10th at 5:00 PM, at The Pas campus of UCN, in front of the library. The book's editorial team and chapter authors will be there to answer participants' questions. Copies of the book will be available at the launch for purchase.
