OCN Blizzard Play the Pistons Tonight

The OCN Blizzard play the first of two games against the Steinbach Pistons tonight at 7:30. The two teams will rematch on Saturday at the same time and the Blizzard will go to Winkler to play the Flyers on Sunday afternoon.

OCN Blizzard in Action Tonight

The struggling OCN Blizzard is on the road tonight and they will take on the Winnipeg Blues at 7:30.

 

The Blizzard is tenth place in the league and they have won only 13 games this season.

OCN Storm Action This Weekend

The Keystone Junior Hockey Leagues OCN Storm is home to the Peguis Juniors at the GLMC this Saturday night at 7:30.

 

The Storm have had a good season so far and are second place in the league with 14 wins.

Junior Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament

The Margaret Barbour Collegiate Spartans are hosting a Junior Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament starting today and finishing tomorrow afternoon.

 

The tournament will consist of 7 boys teams and 5 girls teams and the games will be played at MBCI and Scott Bateman Middle School.

 

Meanwhile the Varsity Boys Basketball team is away in Brandon this weekend for a tournament.

MBCI SPARTANS BASKETBALL PROGRAMS DO WELL ON THE WEEKEND.

MBCI JV Boys won big in there first game at the MacGregor Invitational beating Carberry Collegiate 85-31. The win puts them in the semi-finals against the Gimli Lakers. MBCI would win their game and punch their way to the finals against The William Morton Warriors.

The Spartans would beat the warriors 73-42 and win the MadGregor Invitational.

MBCI JV Girls Traveled to Carman for the Carman JV Girls 2020 Invitational Tournament.

They started off the tournament with a win against Green Valley 36-13. They would make their way to the semi finals against the Stonewall Rams. Stonewall would get the better of the Spartans and the Spartans would have to play the bronze medal game against Northlands Parkway Nighthawks. MBCI would get the win and win the bronze medal by a score of 40-30.

Mbci varsity boys team traveled to Dauphin for the DRCSS Invitational Tournament.

MBCI would start the tournament with a win against the Goose Lake High School Raiders by a score of 87-41. They would enter the semifinals against The Morden Thunder. But Morden would best the Spartans by a score of 69-54. With the loss MBCI would face the Helen Betty Osborn Huskies in the bronze medal game. The Spartans would beat the huskies and WIN the bronze medal by a score of 59-43 in a close matchup.

MBCI Varsity Girls played hard all weekend in Creighton and were named consolation champs.

OCN BLIZZARD LOSE 2 ON THE WEEKEND. BUSY SCHEDULE AHEAD THIS WEEK.

THE OCN BLIZZARD HAVE A BUSY SCHEDULE THIS WEEK.

THE BLIZZARD ARE COMING OFF A COUPLE OF LOSSES THIS PAST WEEKEND

FRIDAY THEY TRAVELED TO NEEPAWA TO FACE THE NATIVES AT THE YELLOW HEAD CENTER.

THE NATIVES WOULD OPEN THE SCORING IN THE 1ST PERIOD AND WOULD TAKE A 1-0 LEAD INTO THE SECOND PERIOD.

THE BLIZZARD WOULD FIND THE BACK OF THE NET AT 13:49 INTO THE SECOND PERIOD ON A GOAL FROM ROOKIE ASHTON ROMANIUK WITH HELPERS FROM TOBAIS COMMANDA-ODJICK AND SAM WILLITS.

THE NATIVES WOULD SCORE 3 MORE IN THE 3RD PERIOD WHICH INCLUDED A SHORT HANDED GOAL AND AN EMPTY NETTER. TO BEAT THE BLIZZARD 4-1.

 

THE BLIZZARD WOULD THEN HAVE A DAY OFF AND TRAVEL TO WINKLER TO FACE THE FLYERS ON SUNDAY NIGHT.

THE FLYERS WOULD OPEN THE SCORING 6:12 INTO THE 1ST PERIOD AND WOULD GET 2 AND LEAD THE BLIZZARD 2-0 AFTER THE 1ST PERIOD.

THE FLYERS WOULD START THE SCORING AGAIN IN THE SECOND PERIOD AND LEAD THE BLIZZARD 3-0 UNTIL AIDAN LITKE WOULD SCORE WITH LESS THAN 2 MINUTES TO GO IN THE SECOND AND THE FLYERS LED 3-1 HEADING INTO THE THIRD PERIOD.

THE 3RD PERIOD WAS ALL OCN BLIZZARD. AS THEY WOULD GET GOALS AT THE 3 MINUTE MARK FROM DUSTIN MOZDEN AND AT TE 4 MINUTE MARK FROM BOSTON BIRD. TO TIE THE GAME AND FORCE OVERTIME.

IN THE OVERTIME FRAME THE FLYERS WOULD SCORE AT JUST A MINUTE INTO THE FRAME AND BEAT THE BLIZZARD AND GIVE THEM THEIR 4TH OVERTIME LOSS BY A FINAL SCORE OF 4-3.

 

THE BLIZZARD ENTER THIS WEEK WITH A BUSY SCHEDULE AHEAD OF THEM. THEY PLAY THE DAUPHIN KINGS TUESDAY NIGHT AT THE GLMC, GAMETIME IS SET FOR 7PM.

THE BLIZZARD WILL PLAY THE SWAN VALLEY STAMPEEDERS AT 7PM WEDNESDAY NIGHT. AND THEN TRAVEL DOWN SOUTH TO STEINBACH TO FACE THE PISTONS FOR A 7:30PM MATCHUP FRIDAY NIGHT FROM THE T.G. SMITH CENTER IN STEINBACH. 

THE PAS HUSKIES (BLACK) CAPTURES THE GOLD AT THE 25TH ANNUAL A&W / FUNKY THREADZ NOVICE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT.

THIS PAST WEEKEND SEEN SOME AWESOME NOVICE HOCKEY ACTION IN THE PAS.

THE A&W / FUNKY THREADZ 25TH ANNUAL NOVICE HOCKEY TOURNAMENT SEEN 14 TEAMS IN ACTION AND IT WAS A TREAT FOR ALL THE PARENTS AND HUSKIES FANS IN ATTENDANCE.

THE PAS HUSKIES BLACK TEAM CAME OUT ON TOP TO WIN THE GOLD.

NORWAY HOUSE WAS IN 2ND WHILE THE SWAN RIVER CAPTURED THE BRONZE.

 

OCN STORM LOSE 2 ON THE ROAD TO NCN FLAMES

THIS WEEKEND BOTH MAJOR HOCKEY TEAMS WERE IN ACTION!

1ST THE OCN STORM TOOK TO THE ROAD NORTH TO FACE THE NCN FLAMES.

FRIDAY NIGHTS GAME WAS IN NELSON HOUSE AT THE GILBERT MCDONALD ARENA. 

THE STORM LOST THE 1ST GAME FRIDAY NIGHT BY A SCORE OF 7-5

THIS WOULD SET THE STAGE FOR SATURDAY AFTERNOONS GAME AT THE C.A. NESBIT ARENA IN THOMPSON. 

 

THE STORM WOULD PUT UP A GOOD FIGHT BUT FELL SHORT TO THE FLAMES ONCE AGAIN 6-3.

WITH THE 2 WINS THIS PUT THE FLAMES WITHIN ONE POINT BEHIND THE STORM FOR 1ST PLACE IN THE KJHL. WITH 25 POINTS,. THE STORM HAVE 26 POINTS. 
NEXT ACTION FOR THE STORM WILL BE THIS WEEKEND SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WHEN THE CROSS LAKE ISLANDERS COME TO THE GLMC.
