After a stellar preseason, where the Northern Manitoba Blizzard went 5-0 against MJHL teams and the SJHL's Flin Flon Bombers, the Blizz are ready to begin their 2024/2025 regular season.
The first preseason game occurred in Dauphine where the Blizz and Defenseman Ashton Dzeba beat the Kings 3-2 via shootout.
The Blizz then took on the Swan Valley Stampeders twice, in the first game the Blizz defended home ice and defeated the Stampeders 6-2.
The next game was an offensive clinic for the Blizz as they thumped the Stampeders 12-1.
For the last two games in the preseason, the Blizz went toe to toe with the SJHLS Flin Flon Bombers.
The Blizz won both games via shoot out, in the first match it was OCN's own Cheechoo Lathlin who scored and in the second tilt, it was 2nd-year player Quincy Supprien.
The Blizz kick off their regular season this Friday against a familiar foe in the Swan Valley Stampeders, Saturday's game will be played here at home at the Roy H. Johnston Arena.
Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m, Saturday's game will be broadcast live on 102.9 CJAR and
